中国绿卡，传说中的史诗级难度！

最近，有个美国汉子倍儿开心。

因为，一直想当中国人的他，终于拿到了传说中难度极高的中国“绿卡”！

这枚汉子名叫布伦特(Brent W)，美国人。8年前从弗罗里达州来到中国。

来到中国后，布伦特很快在东莞遇到了一个中国姑娘，两人第二年就结婚了~

这位美国汉子在一家香港网络公司工作。而上个月，他终于拿到了自己梦寐以求的东西——外国人永久居留证件，也就是俗称的中国绿卡！

Last month, Brent W achieved an important milestone: he obtained the vaunted “green card” that is emblematic of his status as a permanent resident and his right to live and work permanently in China.

上个月，布伦特•W实现了一个重要的里程碑：他拿到了引以为傲的中国“绿卡”，这象征着他作为中国永久居民和在中国永久生活和工作的身份。

It also put him on track towards achieving his ultimate goal: becoming a Chinese citizen.

这也让他步入实现终极目标的轨道：成为一名中国公民。

一枚梦想成为中国人的美国人？

没错，布伦特甚至表示：如果真的可以成为中国居民，放弃美国籍也无所谓哒！

Brent W said he would have no problem renouncing his American citizenship if he could obtain Chinese citizenship.

“I don’t hate America or dislike America,” he said. “I just found I love China and Chinese people a lot more." →“我并不憎恨或讨厌美国，我只是更爱中国和中国人。”

“If giving up one’s American nationality can automatically allow the person to get Chinese nationality, I would have become a Chinese citizen years ago.” →“如果放弃美国国籍就能自动获得中国国籍的话，我早在很多年前就当中国人了~”

至于为什么喜欢中国？布伦特表示，不仅因为自己太太是中国人，更主要的，中国人真的特别好呀~

Brent W said he loved working and living in Dongguan, an industrial hub.

布伦特说，他热爱在东莞的工作和生活。

He embraces the opportunity to meet people from across the country and to try cuisine from a variety of local restaurants. “I am exceptionally fond of Hunan food and I actually love super spicy things,” he said.

他喜欢与全国各地的人们接触，并品尝当地餐馆中的各种美食。他说：“我特别喜欢湖南菜，事实上我很喜欢超级辣的食物。”

Although he speaks little Mandarin, he has managed to make many Chinese friends. Every year, he joins locals in training for and competing in the annual Dragon Boat Festival races that mark the summer solstice and usher in a new season of health and well-being.

虽然他不怎么会说中文，但他设法交到了很多中国朋友。每年，他都会和当地人一起参加端午节的龙舟比赛。

“Overall, although Americans are generally nice people, I found Chinese people, in general, tend to have a higher level of kindness,” he said.

他说：“总体来说，虽然美国人一般来说都很好，但我发现中国人更加善良。”

“A few times I was lost, but somebody was there – even despite a terrible language communication problem – at least trying to help me get the right direction.”

“我有几次迷了路，但总有人——尽管语言沟通方面有些困难——至少试图帮我找到正确的方向。”

面对媒体，布伦特也直言，“成为中国公民”是自己一直以来的梦想。而如今拿到了绿卡，也算是朝这个梦想迈出了一大步啦！

而接下来，已经拥有绿卡的他会尝试申请中国居民身份，还打算和妻子一起周游中国，帮助一些贫困山区的儿童~

“My goal is to become a Chinese citizen”, the 54-year-old said. “Local police officers told me that to be a Chinese citizen, I needed to get the green card first.”

With the green card now in hand, Brent W said he was set to apply for Chinese citizenship next year. He also plans with his wife to continue sponsoring poor Chinese children and travelling across China.

顺便八卦一下：布伦特的妻子在和他结婚之前离异过，并且有个女儿。

现在女儿和她及布伦特组成新的家庭一起生活，现在在读高中，去年去了美国交流学习。

俩夫妇问女儿：那你想去美国读大学不？

女儿：才不呢！美国的东西难吃死了！

(“My daughter went to an exchange programme at a high school in the US last year,” Brent W said. “When we asked her if she wanted to study at an American university, she said no. She said she hated American food.”)

布伦特拿到中国绿卡这么开心，不是没有原因的。

要知道，中国绿卡是世界范围内公认的难申请，所谓的“史诗级难度”，就是它没错了！

要知道，在2004年至2013年的十年间，中国一共才对老外发了7300多张绿卡。

至于有多少人申请，网上有个流传很广的说法是60万。虽然这一数据没法核实，但用“史诗级难度”来形容中国绿卡，一点也没有夸张。

下面这个数据可是实打实的：

想获得一张中国“绿卡”，堪比“蜀道之难”。从1990年到2015年，在中国居住的外籍人口从37万人增至97万人，年均增长2.4%，其中只有不到1万人有中国“绿卡”。

呃……虽然也没有上面几位说得那么夸张，但中国绿卡的难度的确够让人瑟瑟发抖了。

通常来说，你得是重要的学者/研究人员，或者投资参与中国（尤其贫困地区）发展，或者和中国公民结婚几年以上等，才有可能申请永久居留。

比方说，去年就有两个外国人在上海拿到了绿卡，引起了中外媒体的关注。

这俩老外可不简单……

Dutch chemist Bernard Feringa, who won the Nobel for chemistry last year, will be able to pick up his green card next month for agreeing to head up a team investigating “self-healing materials” at Shanghai’s East China University of Science and Technology, according to Liberation Daily. 看到这样的消息，网友们不禁感慨：歪果仁~你们离中国绿卡的距离，也就差一个诺贝尔奖了！

不过话说回来~虽然咱们的绿卡堪称“史诗级难度”，但近两年里，随着国家对外籍人才重视的提升，越来越多在中国科研、经商、奋战在各行各业的外籍人才们开始拿到永久居留身份。

咱们的审核在加快，效率也在变高了 

自今年4月2日挂牌成立以来，中国国家移民管理局进一步健全完善审批制度，优化外国人申请永久居留审核流程，从4月2日至6月2日的2个月内，共批准了1881名外籍人士在华永久居留。同一时间段内，又有270余名外籍人士向上海出入境管理部门提出了永久居留申请。

从这些外籍人才分布的领域来看，涉及生物制药、材料能源、投资咨询、电子通讯、机械设备制造，以及金融、法律、交通、贸易、文化、体育、高端餐饮、物业管理等各个领域。

是啊~虽然咱们中国的绿卡很难拿，但只要你有能力，有才干，愿意在中国好好发展做出贡献——所谓的“史诗级难度”，一定不会为真正的人才关上大门！
